SAVE A LOT OF MONEY ON YOUR WEDDING!

GET MARRIED IN HAWAII!!

Brides now spend around $24,000 on their wedding day. You can have a wedding in Hawaii for less than 1/3rd of that! And, that includes airfare, a good hotel, meals, and a complete wedding package.

Here are some great extras you can add to the Plumeria Packages.

Click pictures to see enlarged images.

Hawaii Wedding Photography

Your Hawaii wedding photography is done on a high resolution camera, and edited in Photoshop/lightroom. Remember, these are all 4x6 size hold in your hand photographs.

Some couples want us to take a lot of pictures, but don't really care if they get paper prints. They feel that with a lot of files they can choose just what they want and have those files made into prints back home. We call this the "Lots of Pictures" option. Up to 4 times the number of files the package calls for, all on a personalized CD. No prints or album, just Lots of Pictures.

Buying your CD is an excellent investment because you can make all the copies and enlargements you want, cheaply and easily at Walmart, Sam's Club, Costco, almost any store with a Photo Department. And, you can easily e-mail your wedding pictures to family and friends.

FOR LOTS OF PICTURES

With the Plumeria, Plumeria Plus and the Paradise packages, for LOTS of pictures you can have over 5 times the the number of photographs fully edited and enhanced in Photoshop/Lightroom on a personalized CD for $225. No prints, just lots of pictures.

Good Tip: When you get home with your CD, load it into your computer and make a copy. Because of limitations on file storage, I won't be holding your picture files very long.

Hawaii Wedding Videography

video

DVD is a wonderful way to relive your wedding day time after time in the years ahead. Your DVD will be produced by a full-time professional (again, usually me), shot and fully edited on broadcast level equipment. Personal titles, slow motion, digital effects, and special insert editing techniques for a multi-camera look are all included. You can even provide your own music that is meaningful to you. I use wireless microphones for clear audio of your vows. Unless you are leaving right away, your finished DVD in a handsome personalized case will be delivered to you before you leave Hawaii. And remember, you can show your DVD at your reception when you get back home. The cost of this coverage is $380.

If you are keeping a close eye on your budget, but still want the best "memory insurance" of your wedding, I offer a less fully produced DVD with very little editing for $240.

Video editting service

Video Coverage Without a Package
$500
Ceremony Only, Fully Edited

All editing is done at the sole descretion of A Wedding In Hawaii.

Good Tip: When you get home please make a copy of your DVD. I have very limited video storage space, and re editing a wedding video would be costly. You can pre order copies for $40.

Getting your Marriage License in Hawaii

The good news is there's no blood test and no waiting period. You can actually get your license the same day you get married. However, you will need to apply in person at the Board of Health to get it. The fee is $60.00 IN CASH, and you'll need identification. Board of Health in Honolulu is open on Monday through Friday. It is closed on Saturday, and Sunday.

If you call the Board of Health at (808)586-4544 between 8:30a.m. and 4:00p.m. Hawaii time, they will send you all the paperwork in advance. Or, you can go to http://www.hawaii.gov/doh and click "Popular Links". It is best to get your license during the week, but if you NEED to get it on weekend, I can help. Check with me on how to get your license on Saturday and Sunday.

And finally, don't forget to bring your license with you to wedding.

Wedding Vow Renewal

Click to Enlarge If the two of you have been thinking of some way to re-affirm your love and marriage, a Renewal is a wonderful way for you to further deepen your love and commitment. It is a chance to declare to your spouse, to yourself, and to others that even knowing what you know, you would still choose to marry each other.

The renewal ceremony is a very special and meaningful event. Our minister customizes the ceremony by talking about your original wedding, the years you've been married, and the symbolism of your original rings. Also, you will receive a special certificate to mark this important milestone in you relationship.

When you combine your Renewal with a second honeymoon in Hawaii, the Renewal Ceremony becomes a most memorable and romantic experience...one to cherish for a lifetime.

Remember, you do not need a marriage license for your vow renewal.

Hot Hawaiian Tips...

Aloha. I thought I would jot down a few ideas that might make your wedding and honeymoon in Hawaii a little more carefree, a little more fun.

1) Sunblock lotion - use a LOT of it. Hawaii is in the Tropics, and the sun is much stronger here. Nothing can make you as miserable as a painful, searing sunburn. So buy UVA/UVB sunblock lotion, at least SPF 45. Believe me, you won't regret it.

2)When you book your hotel, be sure to ask if they will be hitting your credit card for the full amount of your stay when you first check in. Knowing that can save you an ugly surprise later when you try to buy something and your card is turned down because your hotel took your money in advance.

3) You're in Hawaii, thousands of miles from home. LIVE IT UP! Take some tours, go to a luau, get a massage, relax, enjoy our beautiful state and have fun!

4) Even though you are here in Paradise, Honolulu is a big city with some big city problems. If you rent a car to go sight seeing, never leave any valuables in your car when you get out. Keep your purse and valuables with you at all times. No late night strolls down the back alleys of Waikiki, either.

5) Hiring a wedding company like mine to plan your wedding in Hawaii is the best way to go. That company should take all the stress and effort out of planning a wedding so far from home.

Of course I would like to say that I am definitely the company for you... but maybe I'm not. Look closely at the websites that interest you. Be sure they offer what you want. The old saying is, "If they don't advertise it, they don't do it". For instance, you won't find butterfly releases on my site. If you absolutely have to have butterflies at your ceremony, you need to find a company that provides that service.

Be careful of companies that promise to do anything you ask for, provide any service you want when they don't actually have those items on their website. Promising is easy, but successfully following through might not happen.'

And be realistic. That beach with all those blooming flowers and a waterfall with a stream you saw on a postcard does not exist.

About Permits: To be married in a park or on the beach you will need a "use permit". It is your wedding company's job to get that permit. The cost is $20. If your weding company wants to charge you more than $20 for the permit, ask why. The permit is only $20.

6) Deposits. Most companies require a deposit to hold your wedding date. My deposit is fairly small, other companies may want somewhat more.

Be careful of companies that want full payment up front. Why do they need all your money now?

Also be careful of companies that do not require a deposit at all. If you haven't paid them anything, they are under no obligation to do anything for you.

If you cancel your wedding, will you get your deposit back? Usually, no. Depending on the services or package you've ordered, a number of people will be working on your wedding. The minister, photographer, limo company, videographer, musicians. All the people involved in your ceremony will have blocked time for you in their schedules and will be turning away other business to do your wedding. If you cancel, they should get something.

7) Be sure that whatever company you hire to arrange your wedding is actually here in Hawaii. No, really. You need someone right here to make sure everything goes according to plan. Say your limo is in a fender bender on the way to pick you up and won't be able to make it. Who does he call? Who do you call? Some wedding company in California? No. You need someone right here in Hawaii to take care of things for you.
